Xavier DeRoos is an environmental entrepreneur living in South Florida who is working to reduce the region’s impact on our environment through waste diversion & community composting. His company, Renuable, started the Community Compost Program which recycles food scraps and other organic materials in order to reduce greenhouse gases, engage with a diverse community & repair our local food system. Through personal and collaborative relationships and by leveraging technology, he aims to  maximize  local resource management opportunities and minimize waste. Xavier hopes to continue to build on collaborative efforts to help “close the loop” of our food  system while benefitting the individual, community, and environment.  In his free time, he likes to spend time with his family, go on skateboard rides with his dog, Winston, and to talk sustainability or business with like-minded people.
